Dr Alcestis Rodi is an assistant professor of Urban Design and Planning at the Department of Architecture, University of Patras, Greece. She studied at NTUA (Dipl. Arch), Harvard University (MAUD) and TU Delft (PhD in Engineering). Before entering academia she has practiced architecture and urban design in USA and Greece, and has been a special advisor to the Greek Government on urban design, urban planning and city management. Her design work in USA and Greece has been published in the international professional press.

Her recent research focuses on urban morphology. Within this framework she introduced the concept of ‘Bricolage Urbanism’. Her research and design work has received international awards. Her articles have appeared in Greek and international collective books, academic and professional periodicals. Her book Modern Architectures in History: Greece, (2013, with A. Tzonis) has been published by Reaktion, London.
